A residency for artists to share
esoteric practices and techniques.
Participants must offer a workshop
and swear to secrecy.

This program is a skill share for artists to learn obscure practices from each other and non artists professionals.

Each participant will be invited to share and workshop a trade secret.
If possible each artist will come from a different continent.
Teachers will not be invited.

 

Outline of activities:

Photograph the unseen with dissecting microscopes.

Introduction to taxidermy.

Kirilian Photography and plant EEG demonstration.

Guilding with 24 carat gold.

Decelurisation demo at the Center for Interdisciplinary Nanophysics.

Lock picking workshop.

DIY sterile tek for growing glow in the dark mushrooms.

Circuit bending, Arduino and/or how to hack your digital camera.

Super high resolution scanning and printing.

Plus 5 secrets workshopped by Ayatana residents.

Your artists talk and workshop.

 

 

Location:
Residents will be picked up in Ottawa, Canada and driven to the Ayatana Residency House, near the small town of Chelsea, Quebec. This culturally vibrant town, surrounded by mountains and nestled between Gatineau Provincial Park and the Gatineau River, is home to many scientists and artists.

Cost 
$1100 USD
Residency places are limited to 6 artists. Official invites will be given to accepted applicants to help in the procuration of grants and funding.

What is included:
All activities.
Transportation to all activities.
Supplies, equipment and technical gear.
A comfortable bed in the Ayatana residency house.
Most meals will be provided, cooked by our resident chef. *Residents will be responsible for paying for their own meals from restaurants, which will happen 2 or 3 times during the week.
